CONSTRUCTION - ADDING TEXT TO DIGIPAK IMAGES

ADDING TEXT TO THE IMAGES, CHOOSING FONT COLOUR, FONT AND POSITIONING THE TEXT

We have definitely decided on our images for the front, back and the inside front of the digipak and will now begin the process of adding the text such as the album name and artist name onto the front cover. Also we will put a music label logo on it as all album covers contain.

Firsly, here are the plain images that we have decided on for each cover.

Front

Inside Left

Back

For the inside right (where the CD would be) we are thinking of having an image of a candle.
Here are some of the images we took that we may use:

Next what we did was using the font selection on the previous blog entry we played around with the different fonts to find one we thought looked good and suited best. We also played around with the positioning of the text and the colour and effects.

Here is an example of me using Adobe Photo Shop to add shadow effects to the text and changing brightness etc.

Here are the drafts that we came up with which we will possibly choose for each side:

Front:

Inside Left:

Back:

(for this image i made the whole background black so the image blended better)

As you can see, we have used a continual theme throughout all three of the covers, and the back and front images are very similar, the only subtle difference is that her eyes are closed on the back, but are open on the front. The Inside front cover is continuous
as it portrays the idea of her in the darkness due to the candles. We kept the font continuous throughout the album covers as this looked much better than changing it, and used a blurred/shadowy effect on the text to portray the idea of it fading into the darkness.

Next, we are going to decide which of these drafts of each of the: front, inside left, inside right, and back cover, that we like best and finalize them.
